April 18, 2015 @ 8:30 am - 12:30 pm
Event Navigation
Since 1999, the StreamTeam has coordinated a large scale community celebration for Earth Day. Each year, hundreds of people join the team to plant native trees along our waterways, protecting local water quality and quantity.
The StreamTeam will celebrate its 16th annual event on Saturday, April 18, at the Salmon Creek Greenway.
Volunteers celebrate Earth Day by planting native trees and enjoying the EcoFair with free children’s activities, live music and entertainment. Volunteers completing a 4-hour shift will receive a free lunch from Tommy O’s and a free t-shirt. More than 300 volunteers came together to celebrate Earth Day last year. Here are the ways volunteers and families are involved in the Stream Team’s Earth Day Celebration:
EcoFair: Free family friendly event with live entertainment and engaging activities for all ages!
Tree Planting: A 4-hour tree planting to get dirty and make a difference!
Pull Together: A family friendly, 4-hour non-native Garlic mustard removal.
StreamTeam Leader: Share your tree planting knowledge with others! Must have completed Leader Training.
StreamTeam Photographer: Volunteer your expertise to capture the volunteer spirit!
Recycle Team: Direct attendees as they sort their waste at the EcoFair!
Watershed Reflections: Students can celebrate through this art and writing contest!
